Sunshine and boosting your vitamin D and sun protection.
Now we’re having more sunshine I thought I’d check out current advice about being out in the sun.
There’s 2 options
1. Boosting your Vitamin D production, current thinking is to expose yourself to unadulterated sunshine without sunblock, for 20 mins a day on your extensor surfaces…that’s the back of your hands and arms and the front of your legs.
2. Protecting yourself
Generally its good to get into the habit of wearing sunblock of SPF 25 plus. A good make is Green People’s organic children’s sun lotion SPF 25. As well as being suitable for babies, its also nice for sensitive skin. A friend of mine uses it instead of face cream in the summer. remember to put it on 30 mins before going out so it can start working!
